Anselm is heading the unit of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy for Children and Adolescents at Saarland University. His main research interests are the impact of childhood maltreatment and violent experiences on trauma-related disorders and aggressive behavior in post-conflict regions. He has contributed to the development of Narrative Exposure Therapy for Forensic Offender Rehabilitation.

In the RTG, Anselm is the principal investigator of project F5.
