Dirk is the head of the Cognitive Psychology & Methods unit at Saarland University. His research interests are in the field of attention and memory research, in particular on processes of processing emotional stimuli.

In the RTG, Dirk is the principal investigator of project B5, the secondary supervisor of project B3 and one of the two methods consultation representatives.
