First RTG retreat “Kick-off”

Our first retreat took place on November 14-15, 2024 at the Europäische Akademie Otzenhausen.

We welcomed almost all RTG members and our Mercator Fellow Einat Levy-Gigi (Bar-Ilan University).

The program included:

  1. A general presentation about the RTG: Malte Friese, Cornelius König and Laura Dörrenbächer-Ulrich presented the research program including the areas of flexibility and balance and the qualification and supervision concept.

  2. Introductions of all RTG members: Each RTG member introduced themselves with their personal background, their research, and a trivia fact that no one could possibly know about them.

  3. An inspiring keynote presentation by our Mercator Fellow Einat Levy-Gigi on "The Hidden Price of Traumatic Exposure", where she illustrated how her research relates to the RTG research program and how motivated she is to contribute to the RTG.

  4. A poster session by the PhD students, where they presented their research projects for the first time to their fellow PhD students, the associated members and the senior researchers.

  5. Several plenary sessions where, among other things, the PhD students and associated members met with Einat and elected their representatives.

All in all, there were many opportunities for informal exchanges and getting to know each other, and we were able to lay the foundations for a joint RTG identity and for successful future collaboration.
